Roads & Highways

In case of communication the location of Feni is vital. The Grand Trunk Road constructed by Moghal Emperor Shah Suja runs through the Feni town and goes up to Chittagong. The present day Bishaw Road runs by the west of Feni town and ends at Chittagong. The old Grand Trunk Road is now being used locally. Before the construction of Bishaw Road passengers from Feni had to go to Chittagong through Chhagalnaiya. This road is also now being used locally. Dhaka-Noakhali and Chittagong-Noakhali roads run through Mahipal of Feni town.

There is a pucca road running from Feni town to Sonagazi Upazilla which extends up to Kazirhat sluicegate. One going from Feni to Daganbhuiyan has to go through Noakhali road. A branch of this road runs from Daganbhuiya  up to Bashurhat of Companiganj Upazilla. One can travel from Feni to Parshuram, Chhagalnaiya and Fulgazi using the same road. There is bus communication from Feni to Ramgarh upazilla of Chittagong Hill-tracts. There is road connection between  Feni town and all the Upazillas of the district.

Road Transport

Feni has a great importance in road communication because of its location at the mid-point between the capital city Dhaka and commercial capital Chittagong. Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Noakhali and Dhaka-Lakshmipur transports run through Feni. For the benefit of the local people the Star Line has extended its destination up to Chhagalnaiya. Other vehicles run through Dhaka-Raipur-Lakshmipur, Dhaka-Maijdi-Sonapur, Dhaka-Sonapur, Dhaka-Lakshmipur and Dhaka-Noakhali routs. The passengers of Feni have the opportunity to avail themselves of these buses. Moreover, Feni passengers sometimes get the opportunity to avail themselves of the luxurious superior coaches running between Dhaka and Chittagong.

Star Line ( Dhaka - Feni ): This company has 25 buses each with 40 seats. The first bus starts from Dhaka at 6:20 AM. The last bus starts at 6:30 PM. One can reach Feni within 2.5 hours.

Dream Line ( Dhaka - Raipur - Lakshmipur, Via Feni ): Total number of buses of Dream Line is 16. The first bus starts from Dhaka at 8:15 in the morning. The last bus starts at

6:15 in the evening. One can reach Feni within 3 hours. 

Bilash ( Dhaka - Maijdi - Sonapur, Via Feni ): Bilash has 30-32 buses on the road . The first bus starts at 6:00 AM from Dhaka. The last one starts at 9: 30 PM. One reaches Feni within 3 hours.

VIP ( Dhaka - Sonapur, Via Feni ): This company has 20 buses. First bus starts from Dhaka at 9:30 AM. One bus starts after every half-an-hour. Last one starts at 9:30 PM.

Econo Service ( Dhaka - Raipur, Via Feni ): The first bus of this company starts from Dhaka at 6:15 AM. Their buses ply through specific route up to 11:00 in the night. One can reach Feni within 3 hours.

Super Service ( Dhaka - Noakhali, Via Feni ): The company runs 50 buses. First one starts from Dhaka at 6:15 AM. A bus starts after every one hour and your can reach Feni within  3 hours.

Railway Communication

Feni is an important railway junction at the mid-point between Dhaka and Chittagong. The two inter-city trains that stop at Feni are Mohanagar Godhuly and Turna Nishitha. Facts about these two trains are detailed below :-

Air ways

The British Govt. constructed Feni Airport during 2^nd World war. Feni was the second front after Burma (now mayanmer) in the war against Japan and Germany. At present the airport is left unused owing to security problem as its location is very near to Indian border. Of course, this airport may be used for domestic services. There is a local demand in this regard.
