While in service and Performing his assigned duties he considered his duties as service to the people. His motto was service above self. He took active interest in social work and whenever there was any Opportunity he seized that to serve the people. He is the founder of Khowdawandpur Primary School, Khowdawandpur Forkania Madrasha, Bashikpur Islamia Mahila Dakhil Madrasha and Bashikpur Chandrabanu Gana Pathagar. During his service life he was President/Chairman, Governing Body of many Colleges & Schools. He took initiative to establish Sherpur Mahila College.
In his own initiative he with the assistance of the LGED Constructed Sobhanpur to Bashikpur and Kashipur to Poddar Bazar Road in the district of Laksmipur.

He arranged for electrification of his village with the help and assistance of Rural Electrification Board. Besides, he arranged Govt. assistance for various Madrasha, School & Mosque. He contributed towards the establishment of sompara College. As a member of the Govt. College of Commerce Alumni Association he took active Part in the establishment of Dhaka Commerce College. He personally contributed towards the development of Mosque, madrasha
and other educational institutions of his locality.
Rtn. A Z M Hossain Khan, PHF as President, Rotary Club
of Dhaka Mid City for 2003-2004 in his personal initiative
took up and executed a number of projects with the assistance
of his club members to render service to humanity, to
Lend a Hand in the field of education, Poverty alleviation,
rural development, Primary health care, Supply of safe
drinking water by installing deep and shallow tube-wells,
establishing sanitary latrines replacing open latrines,
Creating awareness against HIV/AIDS, Drug addiction,
Protection of Children against abuse, Protecting Children's
rights, taking care of senior citizens, equal Treatment
to girl child, Child and Mother Care, Environmental
improvement, arranging Cataract operation, giving service
to the handicapped people, Blood Donation camp, helping
the blinds to go to School, Supplying reading materials
to blinds, Computer Training for unemployed Youths,
arranging Vocational Training, conducting NID Program
etc. Under his able leadership the club received 18
First Prizes, 10 Second Prizes and 10 Running shields
from the District Governor. Besides, he got more 18
recognitions for himself and for his Club from the District
Governor and Rotary International President for various
outstanding works. He got 2003-04 Presidential Citation
to Lend a Hand In Recognition of Commitment to alleviate
Poverty and promote peace and club's support of Family
of Rotary through Rotary Service from the Rotary International
President. In the history of the District this is a
Record and may be in the Rotary world. No President
in the past could render such a wonderful service and
bag so many recognitions locally and Internationally.
For his outstanding service to the cause of suffering humanity he was adjudged as the Best President of Rotary International District - 3280, Bangladesh by the District Awards and Recognition Committee 2003-24 and awarded Best President by the District Governor, Rotary International District - 3280, Bangladesh.
Rtn. Hossain Khan worked beyond his club level in different committees of the District. He is the Addl. District Secretary of the Rotary International District 3280, Bangladesh for the year 2004-2005. He is known for his excellent leadership in the club and beyond club level.
Mr. Hossain Khan is a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF). He was
awarded Four Avenues of Service Citation for
Individual Rotarians by the Rotary International, USA
for his outstanding efforts in the Four Avenues of
Service in the year 2004-05.
