At a glance:  Mr. A F M Ali Asgar, was born on 1st January in Begumgonj at Noakhali District. His father late Moulana Ali Ahmed was Deputy Magistrate.

 

Education: In 1963 he completed S.S.C. from Begumgonj High School. In 1965 he completed H.S.C. from Choumuhani College, Noakhali and got the B.A degree from Kushtia Govt. College in 1967. From Dhaka University he obtained his LL.B. degree in 1969 as well as M.A. degree in political Science in 1970. He also completed Diploma-in-Journalism from the same university in 1970. 

 

Career: Mr. Ali Asgar got himself enrolled as an Advocate under the East Pakistan Bar Council on February, 1971. In same year on August he joined the Dhaka Bar Association. On 22nd May, 1974 he got membership in the Bangladesh Supreme Court. He got membership in the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association on 12th June 1974 and since then practicing in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

 

Social work: He was elected Secretary, Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, 1992-1993. He was also elected Assistant Secretary, Supreme Court Bar Association, 1981-1982 and member of executive committee of Supreme Court Bar Association for the year 1978-1979. He was also elected Assistant Secretary and then became Secretary of Dhaka Bar Association on 1977-1978. He was the Councilor, LAW ASIA Central committee. He attended LAW ASIA council session at New Dehli on 1992 seminar on human rights and legal rights. Mr. Ali Asgar visited many countries of the world.
